What the Upper North Shore covers
The Upper North Shore is Ku-ring-gai and the southern half of Hornsby Shire — Wahroonga, Warrawee, Turramurra, Pymble, West Pymble, Gordon, Killara, Lindfield, Roseville and St Ives on the Ku-ring-gai side, Hornsby, Normanhurst and Thornleigh on the Hornsby Shire side. Ku-ring-gai is NSW's top-ranked local government area on the ABS's own socio-economic index, and a lot of that shows up as housing stock: extensive Heritage Conservation Areas, and more Federation and inter-war homes still on their original wiring than almost anywhere else in Sydney.
It also means more EVs than anywhere else — Ku-ring-gai has the highest EV ownership of any residential council area in NSW, at 5.15% of all registered vehicles — and more three-phase upgrades, because big blocks with pools, ducted air and an EV charger routinely outgrow a single-phase supply. Heavy tree canopy over Ausgrid's overhead network also means real storm exposure, especially around Gordon, Killara, Lindfield and Roseville, and those same four station precincts are now at the centre of Ku-ring-gai's 2025 Transport Oriented Development rezoning — a genuine shift in the renovation and new-build electrical work coming through right now.

Questions about the Upper North Shore
Do you work on heritage-listed homes?
Yes, regularly — most of the Ku-ring-gai heritage belt is Federation or inter-war housing. Heritage controls apply to the external fabric of a property, not internal wiring, so we can rewire or upgrade the inside of a heritage-listed home in the normal way.
Why does the Upper North Shore see so much three-phase upgrade work?
Large blocks with pools, ducted air and now EV charging routinely outgrow a single-phase supply that was sized decades ago for a much smaller load. It's one of the most common upgrades we quote across Wahroonga, Turramurra, Pymble and St Ives in particular.
Do you repair storm and outage damage?
Yes — point-of-attachment repairs and private power pole replacement are regular work for us, especially around Gordon, Killara, Lindfield and Roseville, which took the worst of the November 2019 storms and still carry heavy tree canopy over the local network.
What's happening with the station-precinct rezoning around Gordon, Killara, Lindfield and Roseville?
Ku-ring-gai Council finalised a Transport Oriented Development rezoning in 2025 allowing towers of six to twenty-four storeys — up to 28 at a Gordon key site — around those four stations, part of roughly 23,200 new dwellings planned over 15 years. It's already driving renovation, knockdown-rebuild and new-build electrical work in those specific suburbs.
