Electrician in Castlecrag

Castlecrag is unlike anywhere else on our patch. Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin laid the suburb out in the 1920s around bushland reserves and sandstone outcrops, and a real number of the homes here are architect-designed originals or careful later additions that respect that design language. That changes how we approach a job — the switchboard is sometimes built into cabinetry, cable runs go through sandstone and rock retaining rather than a simple wall cavity, and heritage or bushland-conservation overlays affect what can be done externally.

Electrically, the issue is rarely that these homes are neglected — owners here tend to maintain them carefully — it's that a lot of the original electrical work simply predates modern safety requirements. No safety switches, undersized supply for a household that now runs air conditioning and an EV, and sometimes wiring routed in ways a 2026 electrician would never choose but that we now have to work around respectfully rather than tear out.

Harbour proximity also means we see more corrosion on outdoor fittings and pool equipment here than in the more inland Mid North Shore suburbs.
